Weekly Security and Risk Report 24/08/22

MAST’s weekly security report issue 346 is available to read now.

In the UK, home owners have been warned that the economic crisis could lead to a surge in burglaries, as a report states that between 2017 and 2022, there were over 1 million burglaries in the country. There have been several terrorism-related court appearances in the period observed. Comedian Ricky Gervais has reportedly increased his security detail in the wake of the attack against Salman Rushdie.

In London, police warn again of the threat of luxury watch theft, as video emerges of moped riders attacking the driver of a Bugatti during a robbery attempt. Car drivers have been warned that leaving mirrors unfolded on newer cars could lead criminals to believe that the vehicles are not secured.
