MAST’s weekly security report issue 299 is available to read now.

More oil thieves have been arrested by the Nigerian Navy in the past week, after over 500 litres of Premium Motor Spirit was found on a boat at Snake Island. Elsewhere in the West Africa region, intruders boarded a vessel and stole equipment from a MV.

The last week has also seen three incidents occurring in the Singapore Strait, including five armed robbers boarding a Cyprus-flagged bulk carrier, three robbers boarding a Singapore-flagged bulk carrier and four armed robbers boarding a Singapore-flagged product tanker.

At least 655 migrants crossed the English Channel last week, and large numbers were rescued off Spain, the Canary Islands and throughout the Mediterranean.
