In the UK, the British Security Industry Association has plans for a huge recruitment drive, with as many as 62,000 new security personnel potentially needed for roles to meet demand in the next 12 months. Security staff at Leeds Bradford Airport have announced plans to strike later this month. It has been reported that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were subject to credible security threats during their last trip to the UK.
There have been several terrorism-related media reports this week, including the arrest of a notorious Islamic State member and the refusal of parole for a convicted UK terrorist.
In London, the public has again been warned about the threat of luxury watch robbery, while there has been news that 54,000 burglary investigations by the Met Police were dropped within 24-hours of their reporting by the public.
