Weekly Security and Risk Report 14/09/22

MAST’s weekly security report issue 349 is available to read now.

In the UK, the country is preparing for the funeral of HM The Queen, with one of the largest security operations the country has ever seen, with as many as 10,000 police officers deployed in London ahead of the ceremony. The Home Office has reported that arrests under terrorism laws have increased by 11 per cent in the last year.

Gym security has again been in the spotlight, after a luxury watch was stolen from a member’s locker. There have been several robberies at cash points in the UK. In London, police continue to investigate a double shooting, and an inquiry has begun into the police shooting of an unarmed man.

In Ukraine, the counter-offensive to retake territory held by Russia continues. Concerns are growing over clashes at the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
