EL BARAF, Somalia – Heavily armed Al Shabaab militants have wrested full control of a key district in southern Somalia on Wednesday morning after the withdrawal of government troops, Garowe Online reports.
A resident said Somali National Army (SNA), along with African Union forces abandoned El Baraf town in the Middle Shabelle region, allowing Al Shabaab fighters to seize it without encountering a resistance.
