The Al Qaeda-linked Al Shabaab militants have on Tuesday retaken Tiyeglow town in Bakool after a massive raid, including suicide car bombs, reports said. The attack which began with suicide car bomb rammed into a military base at the city’s entrance has led to a fierce gun battle between the militants and Somali troops inside.
At least four Somali soldiers were killed in the bomb and gun attack in Tigeylow, which lies near Somali border with Ethiopia was recaptured by the government forces from Al Shabaab. Unconfirmed reports said Al Shabaab captured several Govt soldiers alive during the battle. There was no immediate reports of casualties on Al Shabaab, a result of Today’s fighting.
