In the UK, the new National Security Bill has become law. There have been several terror-related trials in UK courts, while a National Crime Agency operation has seized 700 illegal firearms.

The UK retail sector has seen a sharp increase in organised shoplifting, Waitrose said in a new report. Some stores are now using facial recognition software to identify known offenders. Police in Bristol have dealt with an armed robbery on a bank.

In London, Luton Airport has been identified as a high crime zone, according to a study. UK Policing Minister, Chris Philp, has called for an increase in high visibility police patrols and greater use of stop and search powers, following a series of knife-related crimes in the city.
