Three AU and Somali soldiers have suffered minor injuries in the attack.
The spokesman of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) Col Joe Kibet said on Monday that AU troops have killed 8 militants in attack near Baidoa city.
Speaking with Radio Shabelle by phone, Kibet said Al Shabaab fighters laid an ambush on AMISOM convoy at Goof-Gaduud area, 30Km north of Baidoa town.
